My daughter has been happily entertained for three hours
Posted by: | CommentsAnd it’s all thanks to this amazing playdough recipe! I spent quite literally 20 minutes making two batches of this playdough for her yesterday, and she has now sat happily at the table making all sorts of creations for hours on end. Costing just small change to make, this recipe is an absolute must for the busy work at home mum!
No Cook Playdough Recipe
Ingrediants:
2 cups plain flour
1/2 cup salt
3/4 of a cup of cold water (you may need a little more or less, just depending on your batch)
A liberal amount of food colouring (I used about half of those little bottles you get in the four packs)
1 Tbs of vegetable oil (or any cheap cooking oil)
Method:
Sift flour into a large bowl, then add salt and mix together.Add the tablespoon of oil to the mix, and stir well to combine.
Add the food colouring to your water and gradually add to your dry ingrediants (I found about 1/3 at a time worked well). Stir until mixture resemebles a crumbly dough.
Tip out on the bench and kneed for a good few minutes. The dough will come together and become smooth. This is a great time to kneed in a bit of glitter, which my daughter just loves. If your playdough is a bit wet at this stage, just kneed in a bit of extra flour too.
That’s it! Will keep for ages in the fridge, and if they mix up colours or spread it all over the floor, just make another batch. I will never buy expensive pre-made dough again.
Enjoy!
heynounce – announce your new site
Posted by: | CommentsCheck out this little tool that I found whilst surfing. It is a site announcer and great for announcing new websites. How Popular Are You?
Posted by: | CommentsHere’s a relatively new site I just found – URL Fan - there About Us page descibes the site as:
://URLFAN is an evolving experiment designed to discover what websites the blogosphere is discussing all in real time. It does this by cultivating the content of thousands of RSS feeds and parsing billions of pieces of information.
Now every website owner can see who’s talking about their site in real time and how they compare to every other site on the Internet. There are many sites designed to rank the “traffic” of a website, such as Alexa, however ://URLFAN is different. We rank sites according to their popularity in the fast moving and growing world of RSS feeds.
So yes the site is only new and they are working hard at getting domains added, this site could be big, it’s like joining Technorati and Alexa so go check them out.

Mom Webs Hosting
Posted by: | CommentsMom Webs Hosting: I recently had to find a new web host for my sites. There are so many available today and the one thing that I was positive about was that I didn’t want to be shopping around for web hosting again for a very long time. I needed to be sure that I made the right decision when choosing my host.
My first hurdle; when it comes to web hosting I really don’t understand most of the technical jargon and how much GIG of bandwith or how many Mega Bytes of Disc Space I may need each month. All of that techy talk just confuses me no end so I need a host that talks me in a way that I will understand. A host that doesn’t get frustrated because I don’t quite understand what they are talking about all of the time.
That’s when I found Mom Webs. During my initial research I contacted them via their help desk, of which I had to register with before I could send the enquiry. Well I have no idea what I did but I completely messed up my registration and it wouldn’t allow me to log in. I contacted them immediately and with minutes they had responded and had reset my password.
From there my bombarding of questions began and every single one of my questions was answered in a timely and easy to understand manner. I was very impressed and obviously sold. There and then I ordered my web hosting plan with Mom Webs. The process took a couple of days but really all I needed to do was to provide my domain details and log in details and Mom Webs did the rest.
Now whenever I need to add a new domain to my account I just log in and add the details myself. I can even register the domain right there with Mom Webs as well, and being able to do everything in one place really makes me one happy girl.
Here’s to a long and happy relationship with Mom Webs. If you are looking for Web Hosting take the time to consider Mom Webs, they really have delivered for me. For more information about the Mom Webs Hosting visit Mom Webs today!
If you have had an experience with Mom Webs please leave a comment and let us know about it.

Adding A Form To Your Website
Posted by: | CommentsI’ve been doing a bit of searching around a quick, simple and effective script to allow me to add a form to my website. I want my viewers to be easily able to have some input into my site. After doing a spot of searching and asking around I have come up with a few that I thought I would share. Be sure to check them all out for yourself though to make sure they meet your needs.

Also keep in mind to check out your hosting cpanel as you will no doubt find something in there that may be suitable for your to use.
ColorPix
Posted by: | CommentsI don’t know about you but I am so tired of surfing the net, finding superb colours online only to struggle to replicate them. You see I don’t have all of that whizz bang software that can do all of those things and if you are anything like me then I’m pretty darn certain you have also struggled to match colours you’ve found. I tell you I have several so called colour matching websites bookmarked but none of them really do the job very well or without a lot of hard work involved…well not anymore!
One of my very dear friends sent me a link to this little tiny piece of software that you can use to match absolutely any colour anywhere that your mouse can hover over. I have been using it for the last few days now and I tell you it would have to be one of the best finds for me (especially since I am currently working on a site
) It only takes a few seconds to install and you are all ready to go with it. Anyway I’ll stop rambling, you can find ColorPix here
Please let me know what you think of it afer you give it a go.
Create an Impact with Ad Impact
Posted by: | CommentsGetting the attention of visitors to your site is generally the number one thing site owners are trying to accomplish. Having them register and join your mailing list is right up there in terms of priorities when it comes to marketing your site.
We all know how much everyone loves pop ups, not, so when I stumbled on this little tool I thought it was kind of cool.
It is being labelled as the “Latest In Cool, Next Generation Pop Up Marketing.” They claim that their floating layer technology can increase your opt in rate by up to 300%….wow that’s a bold statement to make. I must admit that some of the ‘floating layers’ they have available are kinda funky and they also have the opprotunity to use some of them for Free.
So anyway, why not check it out for yourself www.adimpact.com be sure to let us know if you trial one of the free ones and how it goes for you.
