Affiliate Marketer or Affiliate Manager? Do you know the difference? Did you even know that there was a difference? These 2 are very easily confused to the new online entreprenuer but it is really pretty simple, one has products available for sale on their website via the way of an affiliate program and the other sells those products on their website and earns a commission for doing so.

Now that was pretty easy wasn’t it! But for a more detailed explanation of the differences between the two you can read that here.

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Posted by: Kylie Rayner | Comments (3)

What is affiliate marketing? In a nutshell affiliate marketing is not really any different than a sales person earning a commission for selling products. However affiliate marketing is all conducted online.

Affiliate marketing is fairly easy to get into and is often a great way to get started with an online business as you really have no start up costs. It is however not a simple and easy road and one that does take hard work and determination. However with that many affiliate marketers see great results with their online businesses and earn themselves a very tidy income.

Take Charge of your Website

Posted by: Kylie Rayner | Comments (4)

Take Charge of your Website: So I am curious as to how many of you WAHM’s have paid a designer to build you a stunning looking website only to find yourself not able to really use the site once you have launched? Do you have to pay someone for every little change or addition that you want to make your website?

Frustrating isn’t it!

I am urging you to take more control over your website and ultimately your business. There is nothing like having an idea and being able to implement it immediately on your website and not having to ask a soul about it. I tell you it is really quite liberating to not be at the mercy of someone else all the time.

So just have a think about this topic for a minute. Are you in control of your website or is it in control of you?

Why Do You Blog?

Posted by: Kylie Rayner | Comments (6)

I’ve just been reading Nell’s Blog and she is talking about why she blogs and what blogs she visits all the time. So that has spurred this post for me. I blog because I find it a quick and simple exercise to get something across to my vistors. Plus I enjoy it, the relaxed atmosphere in a blog is freeing, as at times I find the professionalism you need to keep up on your website a little difficult to maintain, so my blog allows that little bit of me to shine through it all. :)

Plus you can’t forget that it is good for traffic too.! But why do I read blogs? For many reasons, for up to the minute information, keep up to date with others, to catch up with friends and to keep abreast of my hobbies ;)

So have you given much thought about exactly why you blog?

Now the 3 blogs that I read all of the time are:

Michelle from Tonic Gifts

Danni from She-essence

Nicole from the Modern Goddess

Ok, now it’s your turn. I’ve tagged and want to hear from the following 5 bloggers:

DanniL

Nicole

Michelle

Justine

Kylie

Why Informtion Products Are So Hot: Becuase quite simply, everyone today is so damn busy that we find it hard just to get to the book store. Ok so there is a little more to it than that, another reason is because when someone sits down at their computer to search for information they want that info right there and then, they don’t want to spend hours or even day searching for it. They want to find the info and in some cases print and take it with them to read at their leisure.

Have you considered creating an information production marketed to your target market or your ‘niche’? Just by doing a little research you may find yourself with many topics that you could begin with.

Making Money Selling On eBay

Posted by: Kylie Rayner | Comments (4)

Making Money Selling On eBay: Have you given any thought into launching into the online world of selling items via the now very popular auction sites? eBay would still have to be by far the most popular but there are many others popping up all over the place. Just a quick google search will bring them all up for you.

Auction site selling is a great place to start if you simply want to get your feet wet in the online world. It is also often a nice boost to your current online store. You can sell (and people are buying) pretty much anything you can think of on eBay.

Considered a garage sale lately to remove from your home some unwanted (but still good quality) ’stuff’. Then why not consider selling it on eBay, you just never know, you may find yourself a nice little work from home business there.

Let us know how it goes for you and if you are currently selling via an auction site we’d love to hear some feedback from you.

So are you? I know that even though I work from home there are many areas about being a mum that I can really improve on, so what about you? My friend Crystal is, ok so it has taken her a while for her to get to that but she is now living the life she dreamt about before she had her kids. Man do I envy that!

She’s been lucky enough to live her dream for some time now and has created a fabulous website called Happy Mommy News, where she helps other mums just like you and me at  Becoming The Mom Of Your Dreams Crystal has an array of resources there covering many areas of a mum’s life.

In fact she is about to do a Live Free Teleseminar, that you can find more details about at Be A Great Mom where she will share some of her hints and tips to a harmonious and happy mum life. Plus it doesn’t matter if you miss the teleseminar she will be emailing out the transcripts so you can read them at your leisure, but you had better be quick cause the teleseminar is on the 13th of Febuary! Be A Great Mom hope to see you there, cause I know I will be.

Tonic Gifts – Online Gift Store

Posted by: Kylie Rayner | Comments (2)

Tonic Gifts is owned and operated by Aussie mum Michelle Sweeney. Michelle currently lives in China and began operation of Tonic Gifts in April 2005.

Michelle was teaching english in China when a friend asked her to do some research for her about exporting goods from China to England. Through that research and the fact that living abroad and constantly struggling to find quality Australian based gift stores with affordable products for all of her family and friends, the idea for an online gift store was born.

Tonic Gifts currently boasts a range of in excess of 425 items covering an array of product categories.

Michelle and her family are currently in the process of organising their return to Australia, which will give Michelle the opportunity to really give Tonic Gifts the attention it deserves.

The website is very well laid out and extrememly easy to navigate and provides customers with a newsletter and store blog which features product reviews, website promotions and a fantastic collection of articles written by Michelle herself.

We here at Oz-e-wahm are confident that this is one Aussie WAHM that is well and truly on her way to success.

XSitePro Xsitepro: I’ve personally been using Xsite Pro for over 12 months now and I love it! Its simple and easy to navigate ‘what you see is what you get’ editor is a breeze to use.I own 2 of the most widely used Website Design Software products available and consider myself relatively good with a computer. I am by no means a technical person, but I know my way around my computer! However both of these software packages left me more confused, bewildered and frustrated than I had ever been before. Now I guess I could’ve enrolled in a course to learn either one of these software packages but I didn’t want wait for the six or so months it would’ve taken me to learn how to use them.

When I stumbled across XSite Pro I really thought that it would also end up the same and the dream of being able to create and maintain my own websites was always going to be out of reach for me. I made the purchase thinking that I would be seriously asking for a full refund within a few days because it too would stump me.

How wrong was I! XSite Pro comes with a full tutorial that takes you through the step by step process of creating your own website. Ok it is only a very basic website, but once you have worked through the tutorial and spent a few hours feeling your way around the software you’ll never look back. The software also comes complete with a manual that is over 400 pages long. It’s available at the click of button whilst you are in the program or like me you could print it out so that it is always at your finger tips. However to be honest the majority of the software is so simple to use that I only ever need to look at it every now and then.

To date I have built two websites completely from scratch, All Things Scrapbooking and Oz-e-wahm the only thing I pay for these days is for someone to design my banners. However you may already have the necessary software to do these yourself too.

Automate Your Blogging

Posted by: Kylie Rayner | Comments (3)

Building a steady and reliable blog readership requires the blog to be frequently updated. Which, can often be thought of as a hassle. However, if you use Word Press as your blogging platform, then you have a fantastic automation feature available which allows you to work to your schedule and not be a slave to your blog.  You can sit down to write posts according to whatever schedule you prefer to keep and then just set the blog to post them on the dates and times you prefer.

All you need to do is when writing your blog post, change the ‘edit timestamp’ to the date and the time that your blog post will be shown publicly and click publish. It’s really that simple.

Have you been looking for a way to earn money from home? Looking for a way to create your own work from home business opportunity? Then take a look at your current skills, often this is the best place to start. By building a business around the skills you already have you don’t have such a steep learning curve and the chances of success are increased to some degree. You will be able to create your own working hours, and choose who you work with.

Creating your own work from home business opportunity isn’t as difficult as it may first appear. Sometimes it just takes a little time to sit down, with a pen and paper and to really think things through. Talk it over it with friends and family and ask them for some ideas on what they think you might be good at.

There are many ways to turn your skills into your own work from home opportunity. All you need to do is take a look at your interests and hobbies, your past employment and your current skills. Once you decide on something to do, get out there and let everyone know about your new venture.

Networking Group

Posted by: Kylie Rayner | Comments (1)

Well I must say I am pleasantly surprised at the response we’ve received for the Oz-e-wahm Private Networking Group. I’ve been so busy conversing with, approving and listing new and potential members into the group that I think I will need to restrict new applications to a few days a month. We’ll see how we go over the next few weeks with it all.

We are all in the process of introducing ourselves and our websites, getting to know each other and what we all do.

Febuary 1st will be upon us before I know it and then we’ll be off and running with everything in full swing within the group.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to network in a private environment with like minded individuals, we have limited spaces in the various Business Type categories and they are filling fast. Read all of the details here.

Losing A Child

Posted by: Kylie Rayner | Comments (3)

My baby boy is starting Prep this year and it only just hit me this past week that I’m not going to see him much during the week anymore; I am effectively losing a child; well sort of anyway! I mean I always realised what the school hours were, being 9 – 3, but you know it hit me like a ton of bricks that my first born baby is far from a baby.

I have some very mixed emotions about him starting school, he is definitely ready for all of the exiting new challenges that lay ahead of him, not too mention the fact that I will now only have one child at home with me during school hours. Although I’m not so sure if that is going to be any help in me getting more work done ;) lol!!

So we have two weeks left of the school holidays and we are making the most of them. My computer just has to wait because spending some precious time with my son is coming first for a change.

I am sure I’m not the only one that has kidlets starting school this year? How are you all feeling about that big leap into the outside world?
